On Monday 08 March 2021, which was also International Women’s Day, the Women of Substance team officially launched the “Purple Bench” campaign at Rose Park, Arima.
The event was attended by a number of dignitaries but not limited to Her Excellency Harriet Cross British High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago, Member of Parliament for Arima and Minister of Housing and Urban Development, the Honourable Pennelope Beckles, Member of Parliament for La Horquetta/Talparo and Minister of Youth Development and National Service, the Honourable Foster Cummings, former Government Senator and Minister of Labour and Small Enterprise Development, Jennifer Baptiste Primus, Local Government Councillor for Toco/Fishing Pond, Mr. Martin ‘Terry’ Rondon.
